of direct mail campaigns Intuit and Microsoft do. Our strategies
are designed specifically for small software companies.
Nurture programs
You mail them something every month: a case
study, an educational article, an offer for a white paper,
a press release, a letter with a special offer, or a postcard.
Since it's only 100-200 people, it's pretty
easy to do the monthly mailing in-house. For the most part,
you send collateral you already have, so your main cost is
postage—less than $100 a month.
The people who receive your mailings have
no idea that you are mailing to a small list. As far as
they know, you are blanketing the industry. They get the
impression that you are an important player, that you are
growing your
business and doing interesting things. Prospects become comfortable
with your company; influencers and partners start referring
business to you.
